A huge sucess: over $2,000 raised!
On July 6th, an overcast Thursday morning at 8:00am, 21 First Tee participants stepped onto the soaked tee box to compete in our first annual invitational. The many smiles, laughs, and clapping hands from supporting friends and family quickly erased environmental factors and brought everyone to high spirits. Without a doubt, there was an impressive and appreciated display of perseverance by all participants and gallery throughout the round. To add to the success of the day, all participants passed their 9-hole certification with flying colors!
Lowest score overall 9-Hole Course: Steven Ma (-2 under par, 31)
Second lowest score overall 9-Hole Course: Monty Lobb (even par, 33)
Girls lowest score overall 9-Hole: Kristina Ma
Lowest Score overall 3-Hole Course: Liam Gutridge
Perhaps the biggest success was the philanthropy from the students and their sponsors. The invitational is more than a golf tournament, but also a fundraiser! The tournament affords a great way to give back to the program and allow more youth to participate in our year-round programming! We raised over $2,000, which translates to giving 14 students the opportunity to participate in one of our 9-week programs! What an accomplishment!

We had a blast hosting our first TFTCO Invitational! We hope to see increasing participation and awareness for next year’s invitational.
